Second TwistBlock® prototype development in Kibera Soweto, built together with Global Property Advice for LIF (Livelihood Impact Fund).
This project is in line with our mission to create sustainable and affordable housing solutions for communities in need. It is a innovative complex of eight units, four on the ground floor and four on the first floor, demonstrates the potential of TwistBlocks® technology to revolutionise affordable housing.
Designed with the needs of Kibera residents in mind, the project offers more than just a place to live. It provides greater security, better fire resistance and an aesthetically pleasing environment that enhances the neighbourhood.
In just 6 days, Start Somewhere completed the walling with 2060 blocks on 126 m². Thanks to our TwistBlock Technology, the building is nearly completely dismantlable. Global Property Advice handled all other construction works.
